    Secure Mobile Agents in Electronic Commerce by Using Undetachable Signatures from Pairings

    It is expect that mobile agents technology will bring significant benefits to electronic commerce. But security issues, especially threats from malicious hosts, become a great obstacle of widespread deployment of applications in electronic commerce based on mobile agents technology. Undetachable digital signature is a category of digital signatures to secure mobile agents against malicious hosts. An undetachable signature scheme by using encrypted functions from bilinear pairings was proposed in this paper. The security of this scheme base on the computational intractability of discrete logarithm problem and computational Diffe-Hellman problem on gap Diffle-Hellman group. Furthermore, the scheme satisfies all the requirements of a strong non-designated proxy signature i.e. verifiability, strong unforgeability, strong identifiability, strong undeniability and preventions of misuse. An undetachable threshold signature scheme that enable the customer to provide n mobile agents with β€˜shares’ of the undetachable signature function is also provided. It is able to provide more reliability than classical undetachable signatures

    Automatic extraction of water inundation areas using Sentinel-1 dnata for large plain areas.

    Accurately quantifying water inundation dynamics in terms of both spatial distributions and temporal variability is essential for water resources management. Currently, the water map is usually derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data with the support of auxiliary datasets, using thresholding methods and followed by morphological operations to further refine the results. However, auxiliary datasets may lose efficacy on large plain areas, whilst the parameters of morphological operations are hard to be decided in different situations. Here, a heuristic and automatic water extraction (HAWE) method is proposed to extract the water map from Sentinel-1 SAR data. In the HAWE, we integrate tile-based thresholding and the active contour model, in which the former provides a convincing initial water map used as a heuristic input, and the latter refines the initial map by using image gradient information. The proposed approach was tested on the Dongting Lake plain (China) by comparing the extracted water map with the reference data derived from the Sentinel-2 dataset. For the two selected test sites, the overall accuracy of water classification is between 94.90% and 97.21% whilst the Kappa coefficient is within the range of 0.89 and 0.94. For the entire study area, the overall accuracy is between 94.32% and 96.7% and the Kappa coefficient ranges from 0.80 to 0.90. The results show that the proposed method is capable of extracting water inundations with satisfying accuracy

    3D binder-free MoSe2 nanosheets/carbon cloth electrodes for efficient and stable hydrogen evolution prepared by simple electrophoresis deposition strategy

    We successfully developed a simple electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method to decorate the MoSe2 nanosheets on the carbon fiber surface of carbon cloth (MoSe2/CC). With this process, MoSe2 nanosheets can be uniformly and tightly deposited on this flexible conductor to form a 3D binder-free electrode for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The film thickness can also be controlled by the EPD time. Directly used as binder-free electrodes for hydrogen evolution reaction, the as-prepared 3D MoSe2/CC samples exhibit excellent catalytic activity in an acidic electrolyte (21 mA/cm2 at an over-potential of 250 mV). Variation of MoSe2 nanosheets film thickness in the electrodes could affect the catalytic activity, and it was found that the MoSe2/CC sample prepared with 60 min EPD time shows the highest HER activity amongst these different thickness samples. Moreover, stability tests though long-term potential cycles (no degradation after 1000 continuous potential cycles) and extended electrolysis confirm the exceptional durability of the catalyst. This development offers us an attractive and active 3D electrode for electrochemical water splitting

    MODEL : motif-based deep feature learning for link prediction

    Link prediction plays an important role in network analysis and applications. Recently, approaches for link prediction have evolved from traditional similarity-based algorithms into embedding-based algorithms. However, most existing approaches fail to exploit the fact that real-world networks are different from random networks. In particular, real-world networks are known to contain motifs, natural network building blocks reflecting the underlying network-generating processes. In this article, we propose a novel embedding algorithm that incorporates network motifs to capture higher order structures in the network. To evaluate its effectiveness for link prediction, experiments were conducted on three types of networks: social networks, biological networks, and academic networks. The results demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms both the traditional similarity-based algorithms (by 20%) and the state-of-the-art embedding-based algorithms (by 19%). Β© 2014 IEEE

    Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control of MEMS Gyroscope with Finite Time Convergence

    This paper presents adaptive fuzzy finite time sliding mode control of microelectromechanical system gyroscope with uncertainty and external disturbance. Firstly, fuzzy system is employed to approximate the uncertainty nonlinear dynamics. Secondly, nonlinear sliding mode hypersurface and double exponential reaching law are selected to design the finite time convergent sliding mode controller. Thirdly, based on Lyapunov methods, adaptive laws are presented to adjust the fuzzy weights and the system can be guaranteed to be stable.     Decoupled Iterative Refinement Framework for Interacting Hands Reconstruction from a Single RGB Image

    Reconstructing interacting hands from a single RGB image is a very challenging task. On the one hand, severe mutual occlusion and similar local appearance between two hands confuse the extraction of visual features, resulting in the misalignment of estimated hand meshes and the image. On the other hand, there are complex spatial relationship between interacting hands, which significantly increases the solution space of hand poses and increases the difficulty of network learning. In this paper, we propose a decoupled iterative refinement framework to achieve pixel-alignment hand reconstruction while efficiently modeling the spatial relationship between hands. Specifically, we define two feature spaces with different characteristics, namely 2D visual feature space and 3D joint feature space. First, we obtain joint-wise features from the visual feature map and utilize a graph convolution network and a transformer to perform intra- and inter-hand information interaction in the 3D joint feature space, respectively. Then, we project the joint features with global information back into the 2D visual feature space in an obfuscation-free manner and utilize the 2D convolution for pixel-wise enhancement. By performing multiple alternate enhancements in the two feature spaces, our method can achieve an accurate and robust reconstruction of interacting hands.     Escherichia coli topoisomerase i is an iron and zinc binding protein

    Escherichia coli topoisomerase I (TopA) cleaves and rejoins one strand of double-stranded DNA to relax the negatively supercoiled DNA. Structurally, TopA contains an N-terminal catalytic fragment and a C-terminal zinc-binding region that is required for relaxation of the negatively supercoiled DNA. Here we report that E. coli TopA is an iron and zinc binding protein. The UV-Vis absorption measurements and metal content analyses reveal that TopA purified from E. coli cells grown in the rich LB medium contains both iron and zinc. However, TopA purified from E. coli cells grown in the M9 minimal medium has negligible amounts of zinc or iron and no topoisomerase activity. Nevertheless, supplement of exogenous zinc or iron in E. coli cells grown in the M9 minimal medium produces the zinc- or iron-bound TopA, respectively. Whereas the zinc-bound TopA is fully active to relax the negatively supercoiled DNA, the iron-bound TopA has little or no enzyme activity. Furthermore, excess iron in the M9 minimal medium is able to compete with the zinc binding in TopA in E. coli cells and attenuate the topoisomerase activity, suggesting that E. coli TopA may be modulated by iron and zinc binding in vivo.     Changes in grassland soil types lead to different characteristics of bacterial and fungal communities in Northwest Liaoning, China

    IntroductionSoil microbial communities are critical in regulating grassland biogeochemical cycles and ecosystem functions, but the mechanisms of how environmental factors affect changes in the structural composition and diversity of soil microbial communities in different grassland soil types is not fully understood in northwest Liaoning, China.MethodsWe investigated the characteristics and drivers of bacterial and fungal communities in 4 grassland soil types with 11 sites across this region using high-throughput Illumina sequencing.Results and DiscussionActinobacteria and Ascomycota were the dominant phyla of bacterial and fungal communities, respectively, but their relative abundances were not significantly different among different grassland soil types. The abundance, number of OTUs, number of species and diversity of both bacterial and fungal communities in warm and temperate ecotone soil were the highest, while the warm-temperate shrub soil had the lowest microbial diversity. Besides, environmental factors were not significantly correlated with soil bacterial Alpha diversity index. However, there was a highly significant negative correlation between soil pH and Shannon index of fungal communities, and a highly significant positive correlation between plant cover and Chao1 index as well as Observed species of fungal communities. Analysis of similarities showed that the structural composition of microbial communities differed significantly among different grassland soil types. Meanwhile, the microbial community structure of temperate steppe-sandy soil was significantly different from that of other grassland soil types. Redundancy analysis revealed that soil total nitrogen content, pH and conductivity were important influencing factors causing changes in soil bacterial communities, while soil organic carbon, total nitrogen content and conductivity mainly drove the differentiation of soil fungal communities. In addition, the degree of connection in the soil bacterial network of grassland was much higher than that in the fungal network and soil bacterial and fungal communities were inconsistently limited by environmental factors. Our results showed that the microbial community structure, composition and diversity of different grassland soil types in northwest Liaoning differed significantly and were significantly influenced by environmental factors. Microbial community structure and the observation of soil total nitrogen and organic carbon content can predict the health changes of grassland ecosystems to a certain extent
